Afkule Hike

Afkule is an ancient monastery located in Kayaköy, close to Fethiye. With its name translating to Tower of Hope, Afkule was built by Ayios Elefterios – a monk from 11th century – who wanted to dedicate it to worshiping God. The monastery was partly built into stone and constructed on an area of around 10 square meters. The ruins of the structure feature separate carved rooms as well as a stable which is believed to have housed goats. The site itself offers spectacular views of the open Mediterranean Sea and the curve of the earth’s horizon in the distance.

This hike is one you won’t forget!

*Camera for the incredible view
